ABOUT

Sarah Jane was born into a family with a rich history of wonderful cooking including influences from East Texas, North Louisiana and Southern Arkansas. It was those places where she learned and modified some of the best recipes around such as gumbo, chicken fried steak and homemade rolls just to name a few. However it has been her unique talent with Chocolate Grooms Cakes that has made her name widely known in North Texas and beyond. She created her first recipe at age 4, and hasn't stopped since. Sarah Jane does not use any recipes and seldom measures ingredients, while using cook books only for ideas. Her gift of cooking allowed her to cater in high school for the participants in the WCT (World Championship of Tennis) including making a tennis racket shaped cake for the 1973 winner John Newcombe. She turned down an offer to study at Cordon Bleu Cooking School in Paris in order to work and train in restaurants. She married in 1980 and left the restaurant business to have a family, however, the sabbatical was short lived after a grooms cake was given as a gift which lead to a thriving 31 year Grooms Cake business. All of Dallas elite have had a chance to experience her talents. Most notably, at the request of Laura Bush the White House asked for Sarah Jane’s advice with the menus and buffet presentation for the White House Christmas parties in 2006.
Sarah Jane says God has blessed her with a unique gift for cooking which she has used for years by preparing wonderful meals for families and friends. Now she wants to do more with her talents. She is launching the sale of her well known Gourmet Queso which she plans to use as a platform to make a difference in the world.
